AppLoop – Anyone want to make an iPhone app? WHOA!
This looks very cool… Any RSS feed can now be converted into a customized iPhone application via AppLoop:
AppLoop Makes Everyone an iPhone App Developer | Mac|Life
Official Site: http://www.apploop.com/
While this is very cool, it’s really just another means for distributing your RSS content. They already have RSS readers for the iPhone so you can just add your feeds there rather than having to navigate through multiple icons on your screen.
Some sort of automated app builder is definitely a very very very cool idea, but an app is an app…not an RSS feed.
Having said that, my opinion on this might change by tomorrow. ;)
I Love the iLuv i125.
For those of you who have a nice dvd library, along with a video capable iPod, this might be the perfect present to request for the holidays:
It doesn’t supprot HD or Blue-ray, but it’s a quality device that supports both dvd and iPod video.
…and the $150 price tag should make you smile ear to ear.
WILL WE WANT THE GOOGLE PHONE?
It’s coming… The Google phone is set to be released next month and will sell for around $200.00. Key question: Does RIM (BlackBerry) and Apple (iPhone) have the market cornered? Is it too tough a market for Google to enter? Google typically isn’t a company that fails, so chances are the phone will do just fine, if not be a HUGE success. Time will tell…

Side note: Is it me, or does this thing look like luggage? What happened to the days of figuring out how to make phones smaller? Come on guys, it’s time to start thinking like Derek Zoolander! Umm…

New Macs Next Month
Not sure if there’s anything to it, but the latest rumor is that Apple will be releasing/announcing their new Macs next month.

They might be new and improved…but they also might just have new metal casings…
Say it with me folks: Ooooohhhh. Aaaaaahhhhh.
Ehh. :)
Not So Cuil
Looks like Cuil (pronounced: Cool) isn’t all that Cuil. One of the members of their senior staff already decided to jump ship.

Yammer – Interesting Corporate Communication Tool
Very cool corporate communication tool. Works exactly like Twitter, but only allows people with registered emails from your company to join your network and follow your posts.
PEEK – AWESOME GADGET – WILL NOT PURCHASE (PROBABLY – HA!)
Mobile Email Gadget Peek Starts Selling Online, Gets NYT Pogue Slobbering
This looks VERY cool, but does it have a future? Granted, some people want the ability to disconnect from their email for awhile and just have their phone with them, so having the two devices in one (ex: BlackBerry, iPhone, etc) isn’t all that attractive an idea. However, if the issue people have deals with a device being too bulky to carry around everywhere, the BlackBerry flip phone is coming out soon which solves that problem. I’m not sure how necessary the Peek is for someone who works in the online world, addicted to email, constantly updates his/her status on Twitter/Facebook/[insert other Web 2.0 technology], etc, but it sure does look pretty cool.
One more thing… It’s email only. Forget about checking an address using Google Maps, etc. Ehh…
GOOGLE PHONE! GOOGLE PHONE! GOOGLE PHONE! Need I say more?
Google’s First Android ‘GPhone’ Coming Sept. 23? (GOOG)
This may or may not be as cool as the title of this post, but I figured I’d jazz you all up regardless. :)
Enjoy!
Apple Releases New iPods and v8.0 of iTunes – ehhh.
Apple made a few announcements today regarding a new iPod Nano, the new version of iTunes (8.0), and a software upgrade for the iPod Touch. I think I speak for us all when I say… YAWN.
The new iPod Nano: Looks longer and thinner, and is available in cool colors. Not sure why I (or anyone) cares.
iTunes version 8.0: Didn’t you just release 7.0? 6.0? If you got it right the first time, you wouldn’t have to keep releasing new versions…hmm? hmm? My favorite is that they added something to version 8.0 called “Genius.” It’s an interesting idea, and kinda cool (from their site: “Meet Genius: a brilliant way to create perfect playlists. Play a song, click the Genius button, and iTunes creates a playlist of other songs from your library that go great together. Genius playlists help you discover songs in your library you never knew you had — and rediscover forgotten favorites.”), but again… If they’re geniuses, why did it take them 8 versions of the software to figure out how to add this functionality? Not so genius after all, ahh?
…in their defense, I’m writing this post on my MacBook, and I could have also used my iTouch.
Apple = Genius? Maybe.
Apple = Smart enough to figure out how to get me to buy a bunch of their products after dumping them years ago? You bet. Grrr…..

Google promises Chrome for Mac and Linux – vnunet.com
Google promises Chrome for Mac and Linux – vnunet.com.
It’s coming…eventually. This article contains some detail on when we can expect Chrome for the Mac, but one of the more interesting items of note was this quote:
“Macs and Linux machines are very popular at Google at all levels, so progress is already being followed avidly across all levels of the company.”
A few years ago, most businesses were primarily PC based. Apple has done a fantastic job of pushing themselves into offices across the globe to the point where a quote like this one is now the norm. Shock value = 0. Pretty impressive.
Google Chrome is officially in Beta
Testing out Google’s new web browser (“Chrome”) on one of the machines at the office. VERY cool.
Some highlights:
* Application shortcuts.
* Dynamic tabs.
* It’s very light.
Hmm… They now have their own web browser, search engine, email, document/spreadsheet software, blogging software, and 100+ other products. Awesome.
WHY? Nokia Introduces High-End Cellphones

If it’s not a Blackberry, and it’s not an iPhone…why bother?
OH…and here’s the best part: They’re releasing two new phones. One is $520, and the other is $665.
I’ll pass. :)
